Three Groups to Receive "I'm Pet Friendly" Grants Totaling $6,000 in Perryville

Director of Agriculture Dr. Jon Hagler will visit Perryville Thursday to recognize three local animal care organizations for their efforts to assist animal shelters and low income pet owners care for dogs and cats in southeastern Missouri and St. Louis County. Perry Animal Welfare Society of Perry County, BARC of St. Louis County and Creative Communities, Inc. of Wayne County will each receive $2,000 to support their spay and neuter programs.

The grants are funded through Missouri's "I'm Pet Friendly" license plate program. The sale of each plate provides $20 for the state's Spay & Neuter Grant Program. This is the fourth year for the program.
