Dept. of Ag to Donate Proceeds from Harvest for Hunger Drive in St. Louis Friday
Donations from employees, farmers to support food banks helping Missourians in need
The Department of Agriculture kicked off the Harvest for Hunger Food Drive in December with a donation of non-perishable items and a cash donation of over $1,000, benefiting food banks across the state. Throughout the winter months, the Department accepted donations at its office in Jefferson City and encouraged all Missourians to donate both fresh and nonperishable food items.
Additional donations to the Harvest for Hunger Food Drive, including a donation from Missouri farmers valued at approximately $20,000, will be announced Friday morning at the St. Louis Area Foodbank in Bridgeton and presented to the Missouri Food Bank Association to be distributed to food banks and pantries statewide.
