State Milk Board

State Milk Board (SMB) was created in 1972 to encourage orderly and sanitary production, transportation, processing and grading of fluid milk and processed milk products for consumption intrastate as well as interstate. Missouri's nearly 780 grade A and 293 manufacturing grade dairy farms places it in the top 25 milk producing states. With 45 grade A and manufacturing grade processing plants Missouri has production growth potential.
