Department of Agriculture Announces "Missouri Grown" Specialty Crop Promotion Cost Share Program
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. –The Missouri Department of Agriculture today announced funding to assist Missouri specialty crop producers with costs associated with incorporating the “Missouri Grown” logo onto product packaging and boxes.
The “Missouri Grown” Specialty Crop Promotion Program is funded through a USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. The program provides cost share assistance to producers for the cost of graphic design to incorporate the “Missouri Grown” logo on packaging and labels. Funding is limited and reimbursement requests are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be postmarked by July 15, 2016 to be considered.
The “Missouri Grown” Specialty Crop Promotion Cost Share Program will provide cost share assistance of 75 percent up to $1,000 of reimbursement for eligible expenses incorporating the “Missouri Grown” logo onto product packaging materials.
Missouri Grown is the department’s consumer-facing local foods program promoting Missouri grown and made products. From apples to zucchini, hundreds of fresh, tasty and nutritious products are grown by the men and women of Missouri agriculture. Visit www.MissouriGrownUSA.com for more information.
