Informational Public Meeting Set in Martinsburg Regarding Local Grain Dealer
(JEFFERSON CITY, MO) – The Missouri Department of Agriculture (MDA) has set a meeting date for Missouri farmers interested in learning more about an Audrain County grain dealer’s seizure of assets on Friday, Feb. 20. The informational public meeting will be held Wed., Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 300 Jefferson St., in Martinsburg, MO.
On Friday with assistance from the Missouri attorney general’s office, MDA petitioned the Circuit Court of Audrain County to seize assets including grain and grain-related articles of T.J. Gieseker Farms and Trucking. The action prohibits Cathy Gieseker, owner of T.J. Gieseker Farms, of engaging in any grain-related business transactions during this time.
Farmers and grain sellers that have sold grain to T.J. Gieseker Farms and Trucking and those who have not been paid for grain sold are asked to contact MDA’s Grain Regulatory Services at (573) 751-4112 to file a claim.
