Update: Aurora Grand Meat Co. Resumes Operations
The Missouri Department of Agriculture's Meat and Poultry Inspection Program announced today that state inspection has resumed at Aurora Grand Meat Co. of Aurora, Mo. The business was reinspected at the owners' request today, at which time violations identified May 9 had been addressed.
As a result, the custom exempt processing permissions for the facility were reinstated.
Facilities operating under a custom processing exemption, such as Aurora Grand Meat Co., are not allowed to sell meat to the public. Custom exempt processing is completed for livestock owners for their own consumption. All custom exempt packaging is specially marked.
