Department of Agriculture Announces Funding Available for Promotion of Missouri Grown Products
The Missouri Department of Agriculture has made available funding to assist Missouri producers with costs associated with incorporating the “Missouri Grown” logo onto products for retail sale. Missouri Grown is the department’s consumer-facing food program promoting Missouri grown and made products. From pears to pork, hundreds of fresh, tasty and nutritious products are grown by the men and women of Missouri agriculture.
The Missouri Grown Cost Share Program, funded through the Ag Business Development Division, provides cost-share assistance to use the Missouri Grown logo on packaging or labels of products grown or raised by Missouri producers or further processed for retail sale. Eligible expenses include graphic design expenses for incorporating the logo, product labels, printed boxes, printed product packaging, Missouri Grown stickers to place on existing packaging inventory and PLU labels.
The Missouri Grown Cost Share Program will reimburse 75 percent of costs, up to $1,000. Funding is limited and reimbursement requests are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Requests must be postmarked by March 30 to be considered. Once a funding request is received and approved, the Missouri Grown logo will be provided, allowing the requestor to complete the project. All required documentation is due to the department by May 31, 2017, for reimbursement.
