Department of Agriculture seizes grain assets of Harry Brill III, doing business as Ed Brill Farms
Producer's claims will be taken Aug. 1 through Aug. 20, 2016
The Missouri Department of Agriculture, with assistance from the Missouri Attorney General’s office, petitioned the circuit court of Howard County and has been granted orders to seize grain-related assets belonging to Harry Brill III, doing business as Ed Brill Farms. This action prohibits the facility from conducting grain-related business at this time. The Department of Agriculture’s Grain Regulatory Services Program did not renew the grain dealer license for Ed Brill Farms when the company failed to prove sufficient resources were available to remain solvent.
The Department of Agriculture will take claims from Missouri farmers who have delivered grain to Ed Brill Farms and have not received payment. Farmers should contact the Missouri Grain Regulatory Services Program at (573) 751-4112 to arrange for completion of a grain claim against Ed Brill Farms. Producers are asked to provide copies of all documentation to support their claims. Claims will be accepted through Aug. 20, 2016.
For questions regarding claims, contact the Missouri Grain Regulatory Services Program staff at (573) 751-4112.
