Food Insecure Cost-Share Grant Funds Announced
Funds must benefit residents affected by food insecurity in urban areas.
The Missouri Department of Agriculture announced today that 17 projects will receive funding through the Food Insecure Cost-Share Grant Program. The competitive grant program will provide up to $50,000 per project to address food insecurity in urban areas.
“Missouri is home to over 98,000 farms located in every county,” said Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn. “Urban agriculture operations are growing and the food insecure grants continue to help these operations meet the needs of Missouri citizens by providing nutritious and safe food products.”
Grant funds may be used to increase food production and availability within an urban area; demonstrate growth of local economic communities; increase local economic impact; increase availability of food to local residents; or enhance already established areas within a community and provide assistance to the community.

The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, Columbia
Linwood Area Ministry Place (LAMP), Kansas City
New Roots Urban Farm, St. Louis
A Red Circle, St. Louis
Urban Harvest STL, St. Louis
Global One Urban Farming, Kansas City
Hope in the Ville, St. Louis
